Bordered by the streets of Káróly körút, Erzsébet körút, Dohány utca and Király utca, the Jewish Quarter is best explored on foot. Its streets have a particular atmosphere, which makes it easy to imagine the district as it would have been in bygone days. This is also a lively, trendy district which is popular with young locals, who meet for a drink in the area's "ruin bars". The city's nightlife focuses on these bars, built, as the name suggests, in the ruins of abandoned buildings.
