Kerepesi cemetery is the equivalent of Highgate Cemetery in London. Its wooded avenues are dotted with architectural delights, monuments in which members of the Austro-Hungarian bourgeoisie have been laid to rest alongside Communist party bosses, Hungarian statesmen and other national heroes. The cemetery offers a whole host of opportunities for photographers looking for unusual images and is also home to a small museum dedicated to Hungarian funeral rites.
