A comprehensive picture of the Anglo-Boer War (1899-1902), which claimed over 70 000 lives, including those of 20 000 Africans who were long ignored by the official statistics. The informative layout allows visitors to follow events up to the Boer surrender in February 1900, and the subsequent guerrilla campaign which continued until the Treaty of Vereeniging in 1902. A total of 80 000 Boers resisted a British imperial force of 450 000; echoes of the conflict reverberate to this day.
