This attractive square, laid out by Peter Joseph Lenné in the mid-19C, is bordered to the west by the Künstlerhaus Bethanien. The church to the north of the square, St Thomaskirche, (1864-69) was built by Friedrich Adler. Opposite the church is the famous Tree House, built in the 1980s by Turkish immigrant, Osman Kalin.
