This church, built prior to the castle and remodelled in the 16C, has some interesting features, including a Romanesque baptismal font, frescoes on the altar and older frescoes on the right-hand wall. Inside the 14C Nossa Senhora da Piedade Chapel, you can see a pulpit with an abat-voix and a multi-coloured Pietà sculpted from a single block of granite. Historiated capitals evoke the heroic deeds of Fernão Cabral I, father of Pedro Álvares Cabral.
