At km 118 of the Icefields Parkway, Parker Ridge offers a magnificent view over the mountains of the hinterland and particularly the Saskatchewan Glacier, one of the main outflow glaciers from the Columbia Icefield. A path (2.4km) climbs over the crest, snaking through a sub-Alpine forest, then tundra that is devoid of trees but carpeted with dwarf flowers in summer.
