Via dei Pileati is lined by attractive palaces. Note the Palazzo Pretorio with coats of arms decorating its façade, Casa del Petrarca, the house where the poet Petrarch was born, and, at the end of the street, in Passeggio del Prato (also called the "Praticino"), the vestiges of the former Palazzo del Capitano del Popolo (13C).
