Mount Parnassos (2,457m) was thought to be the home of Apollo and of the nine Muses: Clio, Euterpe, Thalia, Melpomene, Terpsichore, Erato, Polyhymnia, Urania and Calliope. Its slopes are today popular with hikers and skiers, as well as with tourists wanting to explore Delphi, the famous sanctuary devoted to Apollo.
