The church was built between 1698 and 1719 according to a design by Antonio Vaccaro on an octagonal Greek cross plan. From the top of the organ case, enjoy a fine view of the ornamental Majolica tiled floor based on a design by Francesco Solimena (1761), which depicts an Earthly paradise.
