Built in the 18C by the Rajput Pratap Singh, who made Alwar an independent kingdom, the royal palace is a mix of Rajput and Mughal architectural styles. Housing several administrative offices, the palace is also home to a small, slightly old-fashioned museum that contains some remarkable manuscripts and miniatures from the Rajput School.
