Set against a backdrop of velvety greenery, a series of three waterfalls form Yosemite Falls (740m). The highest waterfall in the United States and fifth highest in the world is at its most powerful as summer approaches. A hiking trail, Yosemite Falls Trail, takes you alongside the waterfalls. At the end of the track, the seething Upper Fall appears, crashing from the top of the cliff, and the gentler flow of Lower Fall further down.
