From Vendôme, you can head down the Vallée du Loir, land of the poet Ronsard, and enjoy this gentle landscape that has plenty to recommend it: small churches with Romanesque frescoes, isolated fortresses and castles, troglodytic houses and the local rosé wine (vin gris du Vendômois).
