This is the long option for going back to Reykjavík if you arrive from the north, or for starting your road trip if you have just landed. But following the Kaldidalur track will not be a waste of time, thanks to the constantly changing vistas. Here, as often in Iceland, the landscapes are elevated to the next level when contrasts arise and when the clouds blow in to the frame: fields of stone, colourful mountains, snowy peaks, the track is a paradise for photographers and walkers.
