At an altitude of 1 669m, Dante's View is the most incredible viewpoint in Death Valley: the gaze takes in the cloud-covered plain below, with the snowy peaks of the Panamint Mountains in the background. The panorama is particularly splendid at sunset. A trail leads to the edge of the cliff, which is formed of rocks that are among the oldest in the park (around 2 billion years old).
