Popular with climbers, the Parque Nacional Nevado Tres Cruces is difficult to access. Home to a salt desert and two high-altitude lakes (Laguna Santa Rosa and Laguna del Negro Francisco) it encompasses 59 000ha of superb natural scenery inhabited by equally stunning wildlife, including pink flamingos and vicuna.
