This striking and perfectly desolate site appears on the road leading to the Col de l'Izoard, after Brunissard. It is like a lunar wasteland of jagged rocks and astonishingly fine rubble that make up the entire landscape; erosion has isolated harder rock bundles and formed groups of needles. Some pine trees make laudable efforts to cling to the scree.
