In the inner courtyard of the Zagreb Youth Theatre (ZKM), just steps from the main square, this lively restaurant combines a theatrical atmosphere with furnishings of retro character. The open kitchen animates the space, while the veranda tables are among the most coveted, particularly in the summertime. Chef Filip Horvat delivers an original and visually compelling proposal, reinterpreting the classics of Croatian cuisine with precision and creativity and transforming each course into a small “mise en scène”. The menu is rich and varied, between French and Italian suggestions, contemporary dishes and references to the territory: from fresh Adriatic fish to the celebrated beef Wellington, the house’s iconic preparation. In the evening, alongside the à la carte, tasting menus of six or nine courses are available. The selection of Croatian wines is excellent, with helpful and well-judged guidance from the team.
