Bolivian Llama Party began as a passion project from Bolivian-American brothers who first started selling food at street fairs before building a devoted following in Queens. Today, the tiny Sunnyside counter remains lively and distinctly personal, blasting Bolivian pop music while serving approachable takes on traditional specialties and street-food favorites. Saltenas are a standout, their carefully crimped pastry shells holding rich, soupy fillings of chicken or beef alongside hard-boiled egg and spicy llajua salsa. The creamy sopa de mani, a traditional peanut soup enriched with beef broth and potatoes, offers comforting depth, while sandwiches like the brisket chola and fiery Diablada Bros’ter fried chicken showcase the kitchen’s talent for balancing bold flavors with fresh toppings and excellent bread.
