This place has been run by the Stemberg family since 1864. Chef-patron Sascha Stemberg represents the fifth generation at the helm, and he works with the same passion and commitment as his father before him! The restaurant's unique concept allows for plenty of choice, with a four- to six-course set menu – featuring tempting dishes such as "Tristan rock lobster in memory of Thailand" or "Charcoal-grilled Irish Wagyu-beef bavette" – as well as à la carte gourmet dishes. Things get particularly interesting when tradition is thrown into the mix and home-style dishes are transformed into haute cuisine. One such creation is "The prawn sandwich, as we all know and love it", not to mention "Grandma's chocolate pudding". The waitstaff are very friendly, laid-back and always attentive. Impressive wine list including a few rare picks. Here, they know exactly how to combine modern MICHELIN-starred cuisine with traditional standards, and the results are a real treat – hence the tip: book well in advance!
