Somboon Saesor, lecturer at Phuket’s Peranakan Association and a first-generation Peranakan, turned her small roadside food stall into a restaurant in 1995. Nowadays, the matriarch’s granddaughter, Ratanavalee Saeton, is at the helm to continue the family’s legacy. Notable dishes among the homely offerings include lemongrass soup with sweet clams, dry stir-fried minced pork with holy basil, and fried kingfish with soy sauce.
