This intimate restaurant resides in the former gatehouse of the Maidla Estate and its cosy, home-spun charm is a nod to its history. Finnish chef Karoliina Jaakkola has really made the place her own, telling a very personal story through a surprise menu that maps out her life: the fish soup is a childhood memory, the pasta she learned to make in New Zealand and the newer dishes incorporate Japanese elements from her latest travels. Pastry is her first love, and that shows through the lovingly prepared selection of desserts, but she also has a passion for discovery and pushing her own boundaries.
