At the helm of this elegant restaurant in the small wine village of Feuersbrunn is Toni Mörwald, one of Austria's best-known chefs. As well as running several restaurants, he is an award-winning cookbook author. His cooking, which is in a classical vein and occasionally draws on Mediterranean influences, uses first-rate ingredients. Their quality shines through in intensely flavoursome, simply presented dishes – think lobster cocktail, ravioli with truffle and Parmesan, and salmon schnitzel with caviar. In addition to à la carte signatures such as these, there is a four- to seven-course set menu. Expect warm, polished service, with the chef himself also to be seen front of house. The excellent wine list features some fine Austrian labels, as well as an impressive range of Champagnes and sparkling wines.
