Maria Karpathiotaki and her partner Nikos Kasotakis have taken over her parents' Greek restaurant in the Belgian Quarter and turned it into a hip and vibrant fine dining spot. In a trendy bistro-style setting, friendly service comes courtesy of the proprietress. For a special experience, grab one of the six seats at the counter with a pass-through to the kitchen, where chef Nikos crafts modern and creative dishes with both Mediterranean and Asian influences. The menu includes a lovely selection of starters, plated in slightly smaller portions that are good for sharing and for trying out several – examples include scallops with Savoy cabbage, lime mayonnaise, and wild garlic and almond sauce, or half a corn-fed poularde breast with fermented celeriac, baby pak choi, ponzu, and miso and Samos Nectar espuma. Naturally, the menu also features ouzo. There is a small terrace laid out on the pavement.
