Walk through the heritage Passage Zuidpoort and you will come to this fine example of Dutch interwar architecture. The first impression is enchanting: curved woodwork, the bar, the tiled floor and the colourful glass details. Yonna and Ralph keep their modern osteria intimate to preserve its Italian soul. Quality ingredients and those characteristic Mediterranean nuances are prepared with finesse and a contemporary edge. Highlights include a vibrant and unique take on vitello tonnato with the depth of a veal-jus-based vinaigrette and house-made agnolotti stuffed with mushroom, chestnut and hazelnut, finished with vegetable jus and truffle – familiar flavours which the chefs subtly inject with their own character.
