NORRA occupies a former garage whose arches have been beautifully preserved and are even echoed in the logo. Marble, mirrors and the open kitchen lend the interior a contemporary feel, and a pleasant terrace awaits at the front. Lieke Nicole-Creemers welcomes diners with her customary charm, and chef-patron Grégory Nicole, also of Le Nord in Bilthoven, oversees the kitchen. His creative cooking is French at heart, enlivened by well-considered Mediterranean and international influences and playful textures. For example, he combines tartare of sea bass aged for nine days with pepper and plum, tops it with sashimi of the same fish and surrounds it with a thickened jus of Passoã and elderflower. Be sure to leave some room for the cheese trolley, which takes pride of place in the dining room.
