Merold promises "new German cuisine" – top-notch ingredients from Berlin and the surrounding Brandenburg region. Often pared back to just a few components, the dishes deliver a hit of flavour and intensity. The signature "onion, buckwheat, black garlic" is a particular highlight. In the four- or five-course set menu, each course consists of two dishes – optional add-ons include cheese or the superb house-made bratwurst. They also have a well-curated wine list. The modern, pared-back decor is inviting, and the service is attentive, knowledgeable and agreeably relaxed. Chef-patron Jonas Merold himself frequently puts in an appearance on the restaurant floor, greeting diners and introducing his creations.
