Built in 1452, the award-winning Angel Hotel is on one of the prettiest squares in the country, opposite the Abbey Gardens overlooking Angel Hill. The hotel has been visited by kings, queens, actors and writers. One such guest was Charles Dickens, our most famous former resident, stayed many times and mentions The Angel Hotel in The Pickwick Papers. Every room features bottled water as well as tea and coffee making facilities. The Angel Hotel is in the town centre, located next to Abbeygate Street with plenty of shops open to browse. The hotel is within walking distance of Theatre Royal and The Apex for those with tickets to see a show, and a 15-20 minute walk from the train station.
