Sprawling across the 3.4ha of Abernathy Green, the main arrival area for Oregon Trail travellers, the Interpretive Center comprises three 15m-high buildings shaped like covered wagons. Dressed in pioneer garb, guides recount the exodus of the pioneers, which lasted six months; a multimedia show charts the (fictitious) lives of three emigrants.
