Built on a rocky islet, Chillon Castle enjoys a picturesque location in the beautiful surroundings of Lake Geneva, Montreux, the French shore and the Alps. It belonged first to the bishops of Sion, then the counts of Savoy and acquired its current guise in the 13C.
